First experimental Eco-prints.....

Yesterday when the paper making came to a standstill (temporarily) I wrapped up a few gum leaves, saltbush and seaweed with a scattering of the heartwood pulp from the driftwood log in a scrap of old cotton sheet. I had cut the sheet into a few pieces for the paper making so it was just something close to hand.
Anyway considering no protein pre-mordant was used on the cotton and it was a bit of a 'rough wrap' it didn't turn out too bad. Next time I shall make sure I have some pieces of silk and wool cut ready.
I really like the patterns the seaweed made and the bright yellow-green marks made by the heartwood.
