A day of small discoveries...

What a beautiful day. The sea was like glass as the morning sun glistened through the clouds. Tiny sun showers sprinkled every now and then but just enough to be a joy to walk in.
I grabbed my mac (rain jacket) and took my uncle's advice. 'Go on your sojourns whenever the weather permits cos u never know when you may be rained in for days' was his wise parting words.
I decided after breakfast and a nice cup of tea that was enjoyed in bed I would explore the beach in front of the cottage. I wandered down thru the park adjoining the property to the beach and strolled down to the fishing boat jetty.
Gazing out across the mirror-like surface of the water at the amazing array of seabirds feeding in the bay I was startled by blowhole spray/breath of...well I'm not really sure of what. Ha ha. Maybe it's the local version of 'Nessy'. Whatever it was dolphin, whale, seal or Nessy it came up a few times to breathe but barely broke the surface so it will have to stay a mystery for the present :)
I walked back along the road and discovered a great little coffee shop overlooking the bay but alas had lefty purse at home. I shall go prepared next time as a hot chocolate on the jetty sounds like a plan.
Took photos down below the property where I found some huge oyster shells and interesting bits of flotsam including some beautiful frosted seaglass (yes Diana it's for you). Here are a few of the happy snaps I took today. Oh and I have an idea brewing for the rope and driftwood :) stay tuned he he
