Handstitching the little shift dress is very meditative. It forces you to slow down, do a bit of reflection etc. Good for the spirit :)
I've been feeling a bit like I should be producing more finished pieces during my stay here. I'm already into my 3rd week of Southern paradise! I've done heaps of swatches, played photographer, swanned around the place on leisurely walks and been scribbling in my journal but only have a couple of finished wearable 'things' to show for myself.
Mind you I suppose I've gained lots of inspiration from my surroundings for future works when I get home. My fingers are itching to carve. Lino prints and etchings by the hundred are swimming around in the soup that is my brain just waiting to present themselves on crisp white paper when I have access to my press again :)
My visual diary/journal is getting loaded up with ideas for other mediums when I get home to the studio too. Does anyone else enjoy the process of art journaling??
